Traditional Choir
"Sing a new song to the Lord, his praise in the assembly of the faithful. Let Israel rejoice in its maker, let Zion's sons exult in their king. Let them praise his name with dancing and make music with timbrel and harp" (Psalm 149).
The traditional choir enriches and embellishes the community song while it assists and encourages congregational singing. We are accompanied primarily by piano and organ, accented with other instruments such as flute and violin. A well-trained choir adds beauty and solemnity to the liturgy. Though some music reading skills are an advantage, it is not in any way a requirement. We are very fortunate to have a core of skilled choir members who are anxious to be joined by anyone who can carry a tune. We enjoy crafting the music and find fulfillment in this ministry to the Church. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 7-8 PM in the church. Please contact Donna Horstman at 946-1154 ext. 239 or email at horstmanmd@charter.net for more information.
The Traditional Choir sings at the 9:30 AM Sunday Mass (during the months of September-May)
