Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

Men and women of the parish are invited to serve as Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist to assist in distributing Holy Communion in both forms, the precious Body and Blood of Our Lord, during all Masses. High school students who have received the sacrament of Confirmation are also invited to serve int his ministry. Extraordinary Ministers must be commissioned by the pastor to distribute the Eucharist to Catholics who are unable to attend Mass due to confinement to their homes, the hospital, retirement homes or nursing homes.

Anyone interested in serving in this ministry is asked to call the contact persons. A spiritual and theological training session is held several times a year, along with practical training on how the duties are to be performed. After completing the training, there is a commissioning. Administering the Holy Eucharist to our brothers and sisters in Christ requires the utmost care and reverence, and as such, is not to be taken lightly.
