Liturgy Environment
The Liturgy Environment ministry works on the decor of the interior of the church building. The environment begins in the foyer, and extends to the Gathering Space and to the sanctuary. The ministry works under the guidance of one of the pastors, and seeks to maintain a welcoming atmosphere while keeping within the themes of the iturgical calendar. Throughout the year, the ministry includes preparing floral arrangements for the sanctuary and chapel, maintaining greenery in the foyer, providing wall art for the Gathering Space, and decorating for special seasons including Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and Pentecost.
In addition, the Liturgy Environment includes having the appropriate linens placed on the ambo and altar, as these cloths complement the liturgical season. Due to the nature of this aspect of the ministry, it is best handled by a consistent team. The ministry is open to anyone who enjoys working with flowers and decorating. For the Easter and Christmas season, a notice is printed in the bulletin inviting volunteers to assist with these special seasons. Both youth and adults can participate in this ministry by calling or emailing the contact person.
