Child and Youth Religious Education at Christ the King parish
 Guiding our children's spiritual growth is one of our most important tasks. The Parish Religious Education Program is intended to help parents do just that. About 600 young people, ages three through high school, and over 100 adult volunteers participate in the program.

Registration for Religious Education Classes begins in May for the following School year. Registration forms may be picked up in the Religious Education office. Forms are also posted on the website for your convenience (click here to go to the Registration Forms Page). Please call the office at 946-1154 with any questions.
Classes meet from September to May and are organized into four departments; Early Childhood, Grades 2-5, Middle School and High School.
Early Childhood — meets during the 9:30 Sunday Mass and is for 3 year olds (by August 31) through 1st grade. It emphasizes awareness that God is our Father and Creator, who know us and loves us always; that God has called us by name and we belong to Him. The children are introduced to stories from the Bible, participate in various forms of worship to honor and praise God, become aware that they are members of Christ the King Catholic Church, and become familiar with the symbols, signs and traditional prayers of the Church.

Elementary (Grades 2-5) — Wednesday: Classes begin in late September. They start at 7 p.m. and last until 8:00 p.m. Classes will meet on both floors of the school building. Grades 2 and 3 will be on the lower level. Grades 4 and 5 will be on the upper level. Class lists will be posted outside the classroom doors. There will be an adult in the parish library if you need help. It is important that you drop off your children no earlier than five minutes before class and you pick them up promptly at 8:00 p.m. There will be no supervision before and after class. For the safety of your children, 2nd graders will not be released to the parking lot. We ask that a parent or older sibling pick them up at the classroom door.

Middle School (Grades 6-8) — Wednesday: Classes begin at 7:00 PM and last until 8:00 PM. beginning in late September. Our program this year will be divided into five sections: faith formation, service, liturgical study, lent and relationships with a focus on maturation. This active discussion based curriculum is designed to meet the unique needs of middle school students. Our first meeting will take place in the CK gym, but after group placements, the students will meet directly with their group leaders. All group meetings will take place quarterly to foster community between our students. It is important that you drop off your children no earlier than five minutes before class, and that you pick them up promptly after class.

Christian Initiation of Children (CIC) — If your child is older than age 7 and has not yet been baptized, or has missed preparation for their First Holy Communion and you are now ready to begin preparation for these sacraments we can help! Our CIC program is designed to work in conjunction with the Religious Education program. CIC meets once a month and is for the students and their parents.
